To help raise the cash, Nicky records a song and his friends broadcast it via a pirate radio station, touting him as The Mystery Singer - the plan works and interest in their up and coming show is heightened by this new but unknown heart-throb. Bachelor Boy Cliff Richard dons his dancing shoes and brings a beat to the beach in the breeziest Summer Holiday on record! WONDERFUL LIFE:- Cliff Richard & The Shadows are hired to star in a movie shot amid the lush tropical scenery of the Canary Islands. A sunny seaside spectacular, filled with romance, excitement and high spirits - not to mention a dozen musical numbers Cruise ship entertainer Johnnie (Cliff Richard) and his buddies wind up on the set of a lavish film production. Johnnie falls for Jenny (Susan Hampshire), and they spend their days playing make-believe and serenading one another on the movie sets while nobody's looking. Wonderful Life was filmed by director Sidney J. Furie, with a great fondness for the great MGM musicals, and it's literally filled with audacious color schemes and elaborate sets. It also employs the wide-angle camera lens to take full advantage of its scope and range. In this musical comedy, a popular singer and his band find themselves stuck in the Canary Islands. While there a neurotic filmmaker brings his cast and crew to make a film. The singer ends up falling for the leading lady and decides to make a musical version of the film on the sly using the other director's equipment. Both pictures are lousy until the two filmmakers team up and combine them. A smash hit is born.
