EDDIE NOACK - HAVE BLUES WILL TRAVEL (29 tracks from various labels. Eddie Noack was one of the very best songwriters in country music, and he was a pretty good singer too. But he was always one of those people known and appreciated more within the business and by fans of the niche music than by the public at large. The songs on this CD are a good cross-section of Eddie’s first ten years as a singer and writer. Many of the songs are spare and to the point but there is always a good melody and a memorable turn of phrase. Back in 1987 Terry Noland called one of Bear Family's distributors asking if they'd be interested in releasing his recordings. Bear Family, of course, said yes. To that point, no one knew what had happened to him. It turned out he'd gone into real estate development and made millions, but back in 1957 he was recording at Norman Petty's studio alongside his schoolmate Buddy Holly. In fact, he and Buddy were signed to Brunswick on the same day.
