U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: STEPPIN' STONE - THE SOUND OF MEMPHIS / XL STORY VOLUME 3 (The third volume of our successful series digging into the Memphis production powerhouse Sounds Of Memphis and its XL label. Our earlier volumes threw light on the studio's incredible southern soul legacy and the strength of music that was laid down. The third volume digs deeper and is made up of mainly unreleased masters but all of unerringly high quality. The discoveries are incredible, with the front ranking being two numbers by Willie Walker. Despite being recorded as demos they are as good as any single that ever made it to vinyl. Equally, recordings by Willie Bollinger, the awesome Otis Wheat and Art Jerry Miller are fantastic. All artists with a very low profile but on the aural evidence they deserved to be much better known. We feature two more cuts from George Jackson, including a brilliant alternate vocal to 'How Can I Get Next To You' and the previously unheard 'Love Trying To Come'. We also have two wonderful pieces by producer Dan Greer, whose voice is the height of soulfulness, plus work from the Minits, whose recordings at Sounds Of Memphis never fail to impress. We take the story into the 80s with a couple of recordings from Tekelia and Erma Shaw, showing that Sounds Of Memphis continued to produce soulful gems into that decade. Extensive notes and rare photos complete this fantastic package. Track listing: 1. IF YOU NEVER SEE ME - Willie Walker, 2. I WON'T HAVE TO CRY NO MORE - William Bollinger, 3. SATURDAY IN THE PARK - Jacksonians, 4. HOOK LINE & SINKER - Minits, 5. HOW CAN I GET NEXT TO YOU (ALT VOX) - George Jackson, 6. I'M YOUR SLAVE - Otis Wheat, 7. YOU'RE SLIPPING AWAY - Dan Greer, 8. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: DOUBLE COOKIN' - CLASSIC NORTHERN SOUL INSTRUMENTALS (Kent's first ever all-instrumental collection brings together some of the most popular 'wordless wonders' to have livened up Northern Soul dance floors in the past 40+ years. From the pioneering Twisted Wheel and Blackpool Mecca/Torch eras, the instrumental has been as integral a part of Northern Soul as has its vocal counterpart. 'Double Cookin'' embraces the whole spectrum of the Northern Dance instrumental, from early and seemingly unlikely floor-fillers by the likes of Hugo Montenegro and Bill Black's Combo to more orthodox Northern perennials such as 'Thumb A Ride', 'California Montage' and 'Stirrin' Up Some Soul' - all first massive when instrumentals were at their peak of Northern Soul popularity (1972-75). As well as featuring numerous proven crowd-pleasers, the CD features a handful of instrumental versions of long-time vocal favourites that were created especially for - and are mostly exclusive to - 'Double Cookin''. Also included are new stereo versions, taken from original master tapes, of several tracks that were first refashioned as instrumentals in the mid-70s by Simon Soussan and released variously as 'Arthur Wright and his Orchestra', 'The Fred Smith Orchestra' and so on. The debate as to whether or not an instrumental can have soul has raged on the scene for decades. They are always inspirational: there's no doubt that instro devotees will have a field day with the contents of 'Double Cookin''. Track listing: 1. DOUBLE COOKIN' (STRINGS A GO-GO) - The Checkerboard Squares, 2. MAKE ME YOURS - Arthur Wright & His Orchestra, 3. FESTIVAL TIME - The San Remo Golden Strings, 4. CIGARETTE ASHES - Jimmy Conwell, 9. SLICED TOMATOES - Just Brothers, 10. IF I COULD TURN BACK THE HANDS OF TIME - Arthur Wright & His Orchestra, 11. THE SPY - The Guys From U.N.C.L.E., 12. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: THE COMPLETE GOLDWAX SINGLES VOLUME 3 - 1967 - 1970 (This is the final instalment of the singles released on Goldwax. After the height of success represented in Volume 2, this is a more sober affair. The label reached the end of the road and eventually closed over this period as its major artists: James Carr, Spencer Wiggins and the Ovations, found themselves out of fashion and out of hits, despite no collapse in quality. James Carr and Spencer Wiggins are represented here with some of their most impassioned recordings: Carr's pounding 'Freedom Train' and Wiggins' amazing take on 'I Never Loved A Woman'. Label owners Quinton Claunch and Doc Russell strove to find to broaden the label's appeal during this time-frame. This included the launch of the country label Timmie, which saw Carmol Taylor release some incredible records. But Memphis was no Nashville and the hits didn't follow. Other ploys included licensing to major labels such as Chess and United Artist's Veep label, but nothing led to another artist breakthrough. Across the two CDs is some incredible southern soul recorded in Memphis and Muscle Shoals, not just by the headline acts but by Percy Milem and Willie Walker, future stars such as Timmy Thomas and the terminally obscure Willie Morgan. These recordings represent the best work of such studios as American Recordings, Sounds Of Memphis and Rick Hall's Fame studio. Track listing: CD1: 1. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: THE COMPLETE GOLDWAX SINGLES VOLUME 2 - 1966 - 1967 (second of three 2CD sets that will cover every A & B side from the Memphis Goldwax label & it's sister labels between 1963 and 1971 This second volume is the label’s golden period, where classic southern soul 45s poured out and James Carr cemented his place in the pantheon of great soul singers with a series of releases that are simply jaw-dropping. However Goldwax’s owners worked hard to diversify, in the hope that it wouldn’t suddenly be caught in the cold by a sudden change in musical fashion. 1966-7 was when James Carr released five singles. The run of the first four A-sides ‘You’ve Got My Mind Messed Up’, ‘Love Attack’, ‘Pouring Water On A Drowning Man’ and ‘Dark End Of The Street’ are peerless, and it is almost unbelievable that they were a consecutive run of singles. The Ovations also released some superb 45s throughout this period as did number two soul man Spencer Wiggins, who served up the sublime ‘Uptight Good Woman’, among others. There are also brilliant slices of southern soul from Percy Milem, Eddie Jefferson, George (Jackson) and (Dan) Greer and Barbara Perry. Part of the fun of a complete singles set are the oddities and one-offs that come up. Here are excursions into garage rock, with the respected local Memphis group the Yo Yos aping the sounds of the British Invasion, who were influenced by the sounds of America in the first place. It also sees the start of an attempt to move into the country market with records by Kathy Davis and Carmol Taylor, which led to the launch of a new label – Timmy – specializing in this type of music. The singles usually included one side of the sort of country ballads that are a close relation to the deepest southern soul. They are a pleasure to hear and are reissued for the very first time. There is also a wider sense of the R&B and soul world beyond the impassioned voices of Carr and Wiggins: OB McClinton released his final, Ernie K Doe-sounding 45; there is a typical Memphis instrumental from Gene “Bowlegs” Miller; and an attempt or two by Ivory Joe Hunter to rekindle his career. The veteran star’s 40s and 50s recordings were very much favourites of Elvis Presley, and Hunter was based in Memphis throughout the 60s. Goldwax’s golden age was when their main star was regularly in the charts and their recordings were hailed as great. These were always strong enough to stand alone. What is fascinating is to hear them in context of what was going on around them. Full track listing: DISC 01 01 - YOU'VE GOT MY MIND MESSED UP - James Carr - - 02 - THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO KNOW - James Carr - - 03 - LEANING ON YOU - The Yo Yo's - - 04 - I CAN'T FORGET YOU - The Yo Yo's - - 05 - HELLO DAUGHTER - Leroy Daniel - - 06 - GONNA COMB YOU OUT OF MY HAIR - Leroy Daniel - - 07 - TRYING TO MAKE IT - Oboe - - 08 - I'M JUST THAT KIND OF FOOL FOR YOU - Oboe - - - 09 - HERE IT IS NOW - Gene Bowlegs Miller - - 10 - WHAT TIME YE GOT - Gene Bowlegs Miller - - 11 - I BELIEVE I'LL GO BACK HOME - The Ovations - - 12 - QUALIFICATIONS - The Ovations - - 13 - EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPED ME - Ivory Joe Hunter - - 14 - I CAN MAKE YOU HAPPY - Ivory Joe Hunter - - 15 - LITTLE THINGS - Jeanne Newman - - 16 - AIN'T THAT LONELY - Jeanne Newman - - - - - 17 - TAKE ME JUST AS I AM - Spencer Wiggins - - 18 - THE KIND OF WOMAN THAT'S GOT NO HEART - Spencer Wiggins - - 19 - LOVE ATTACK - James Carr - - 20 - COMING BACK TO ME BABY - James Carr - - 21 - GOTTA FIND A NEW LOVE - The Yo Yo's - - 22 - I'VE GOT SOMETHING IN MY EYE - The Yo Yo's - - 23 - POURING WATER ON A DROWNING MAN - James Carr - - 24 - FORGETTING YOU - James Carr - - - 25 - OLD FRIEND (YOU ASKED ME IF I MISS HER) - Spencer Wiggins - - 26 - WALKING OUT ON YOU - Spencer Wiggins - - 27 - YOU DIDN'T KNOW IT BUT YOU HAD ME - George & Greer - - 28 - GOOD TIMES - George & Greer DISC 02 01 - ME AND MY IMAGINATION - The Ovations - - 02 - THEY SAY - The Ovations - - 03 - CRYING BABY BABY BABY - Percy Milem - - 04 - CALL ON ME - Percy Milem - - 05 - WHEN YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR - Eddie Jefferson - - 06 - SOME OTHER TIME - Eddie Jefferson - - 07 - THE DARK END OF THE STREET - James Carr - - - 08 - LOVABLE GIRL - James Carr - - 09 - SAY YOU NEED IT - Barbara Perry - - 10 - UNLOVABLE - Barbara Perry - - 11 - CRY ME A HAND FULL - The Terry's - - 12 - STORMY LOVE AFFAIR - The Terry's - - 13 - DON'T YOU BELIEVE HIM - Ivory Joe Hunter - - 14 - WHAT'S THE MATTER BABY - Ivory Joe Hunter - - 15 - HAVE SOME BOOGALOO - Timmy Thomas - - 16 - LIQUID MOOD - Timmy Thomas - - 17 - UPTIGHT GOOD WOMAN - Spencer Wiggins - - 18 - ANYTHING YOU DO IS ALRIGHT - Spencer Wiggins - - 19 - I'VE GOTTA GO - The Ovations feat Louis Williams - - 20 - RIDE MY TROUBLES AND BLUES AWAY - The Ovations feat Louis Williams - - 21 - THE WIFE OF THE LIFE OF THE PARTY - Kathy Davis - - - 22 - YOU CAN DISH IT OUT (BUT CAN YOU TAKE IT) - Kathy Davis - - 23 - LET IT HAPPEN - James Carr - - 24 - A LOSING GAME - James Carr - - 25 - DID SHE ASK ABOUT ME - Carmol Taylor - - 26 - HERE COMES THE FOOL - Carmol Taylor) U.K ACE Special on-line offer for UK customers only - buy 6 or more DVDs/CDs/Videos (or a mixture of both) and we pay your postage!!! |

U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: WESTBOUND DETROIT NORTHERN SOUL (The Northern soul side of the legendary Detroit indie label has never been fully explored. Westbound had a lot of great dance record releases which have been largely overlooked due to the funky nature of the successful acts like Ohio Players and Funkadelic. There are more great harmony groups to complement the Westbound Sound Of Detroit CD (CDSEWD 065) we issued in 1994. In fact there are only five tracks duplicated from that CD. More top quality unreleased sides have been unearthed by major soul acts including the excellent 'Ain't That Lovin'' by Denise LaSalle & Abe Tilmon from the Detroit Emeralds as well as an unheard recording 'I'm Slowly Moulding' by the Magictones. Cult Detroit vocalists Joe Matthews, Emanuel Lasky and Eddie Hill are all represented and there are further vocal group gems from Unique Blend, the Superlatives and the Houston Outlaws. Half of the CD is new to digital and only one of the tracks has featured on a Kent CD before. 'Maybe So, Maybe No' by the New Holidays is the original of the song that Mayer Hawthorne had a recent (new) R&B smash with. It is full of great soul surprises, many of them very rare on vinyl, and is the highest quality late 60s, early 70s crossover soul. Track listing: 1. DO ME RIGHT - DENISE LA SALLE, 2. GONNA SPREAD THE NEWS - UNIQUE BLEND, 3. HOLDING ON - DETROIT EMERALDS, 4. AIN'T THAT LOVIN' - DENISE & ABE, 5. WHAT EVERY LITTLE GIRL NEEDS - JOE MATTHEWS, 6. I AM SO THANKFUL - EDDIE HILL, 7. FEEL THE NEED - DAMON SHAWN, 8. TILL ANOTHER DAY - CAESAR FRAZIER, 9. I'VE GOT TO HAVE YOU - MELVIN SPARKS featuring JIMMY SCOTT, 10. DON'T LET TRUE LOVE DIE - SUPERLATIVES, 11. AIN'T NO TELLING - HOUSTON OUTLAWS, 12. I GOT TO HAVE YOUR LOVE - FANTASTIC FOUR, 13. HAPPY DAYS - THE MAGICTONES, 14. LONELY IN A CROWD - SUPERLATIVES, 15. CAN'T SHAKE IT LOOSE - FUNKADELIC, 16. MY BABY AIN'T NO PLAYTHING - NEW HOLIDAYS, 17. YES I'M IN LOVE - UNIQUE BLEND, 18. I'M SLOWLY MOULDING - THE MAGICTONES, 19. NEVER MY LOVE - EMANUEL LASKEY , 20. I CAN'T SEE MYSELF DOING WITHOUT YOU - BOB & HAROLD, 21. TILL YOU DECIDE TO COME HOME - THE MAGICTONES, 22. WHAT AM I GONNA DO (ABOUT YOU BABY) - JIMMY SCOTT, 23. THIRD WORLD - JOE MATTHEWS, 24. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG: 20 CHEATIN' HEARTBREAKERS – (KENT SOUL) – VARIOUS ARTISTS (Cheatin' Songs have always been close to the core of black music. (And country music, too, but that's a topic for another time). Way back in the 1920s, gospel evangelist Washington Phillips was happy to sing about 'A Man Who Loves Every Woman He Sees' in the classic You Can't Stop A Tattler. Jody (aka Jody Ryder aka Joe The Grinder) records might have ruled R&B in the early 1970s, but no less a legend than Louis Armstrong had already addressed the same issue as far back as the early 1930s with Jodie Man. Musical indiscretion was right there in the 40s, and the 50s. And the topic of infidelity really started to hit its stride in the mid-1960s, when liberated attitudes to marital responsibility allowed the likes of Art Freeman to proclaim It's So Romantic, Slippin' Around. OK, so Mr F may have tried to convince his listeners that the 'Slip Around' was some kind of new dance craze, but few who heard the record would have fallen for that. And even fewer would have misunderstood Clarence Carter's 1968 invitation to Slip Away ('Could You Just Slip Away, Without Him Knowing You're Gone'). Or, for that matter, an even more blatant 1970 proclamation by Roy C. that he couldn't 'See Nothing Wrong With Making Love To Another Man's Wife - Long As You Do It Right' in his 1971 R&B hit Got To Get Enough (Of Your Sweet Love Stuff)... And if unfaithfulness was a major topic in soul circles as the 60s drew to a close, it often seemed to be the only topic in the 1970s. The afore-mentioned Jody cycle, instigated by Johnnie Taylor's Jody Got Your Girl And Gone, ran the length of 1971 and came to a conclusion only when Sam And Dave informed us that 'Jody Ryder Got Killed' at the year's close. But Jody wasn't the only one to be found fishin' in another man's pond. When Billy Paul sang Me And Mrs Jones, We Got A Thing Goin' On in 1972, you didn't need a Ph D in love-ology to realise that he wasn't singing the song from Mr Jones' point of view. This avocation of extra marital relationships sold several million records - you have to wonder exactly how many buyers identified with both the singer and the sentiments. Your friends tell you there's no future in loving a married man - if I can't see you when I want, I'll see you when I can... (Luther Ingram/Millie Jackson, (If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want To Be Right 1972/75) ...And that's where this CD comes in. Even though cheatin' continues to be a favourite theme in contemporary and traditional styles of Black Music, there's little doubt that 1967-77 represents the golden decade for this genre - ten years when it often seemed compulsory for at least one side of every soul 45 to be a graphic hymn to illicit relationships. If Loving You Is Wrong brings you 20 of the finest examples of Hi-Infidelity, carefully chosen to fairly represent the viewpoint of both sexes (but not, on this occasion, same sex - although there are several non-heterosexual cheatin' songs that are equally worthy of inclusion here. We'll save those for volume two...) It Wouldn't Have Hurt Half As Much As It Did, If It Had Been Another Man (Freddie North, Did I Come Back Too Soon (Or Did I Stay Away Too Long?) 1971) ...And if you don't believe that cheatin' was and still is big soul business, take another look at this track listing. Almost all of these selections scored heavily on the soul charts. Several, like Shirley Brown's seminal Woman To Woman and Mel & Tim's Backfield In Motion - proof that it's possible to slip around and cop a groove simultaneously - went on to be substantial pop hits. Still more were then made over for the country market (cf Mr And Mrs. Untrue, Married, But Not To Each Other). Guess what - those versions were hits, too. And rightly so, as they're some of the finest songs ever written, and would be so regardless of their subject matter... Got nowhere to turn, tired of being alone, feel like breaking up somebody's home (Ann Peebles, Breaking Up Somebody's Home 1972) ...Kent's If Loving You Is Wrong - 20 Cheatin' Heartbreakers. An essential collection of sensual soul music, and a musical valentine with a difference. Get a copy for the one you love. Then get another for the one you're not supposed to love. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: CARNIVAL NORTHERN SOUL (The New Jersey-based Carnival label has always been revered and collected among the Northern Soul fraternity since records such as the Lovettes' 'Little Miss Soul' and the Pretenders' 'I Wanna Be' first went massive in the early 70s. The UK 'newies' scene of the 80s took to the label as it had many great sides that were overlooked in the rush to find Wigan stompers in the 70s. Tracks by Phil Terrell, Barbara Brown and the Metrics were huge in that era. The quality of the songs and productions from label owner and major jazz talent Joe Evans was always very high: not a turkey in sight. Lesser-known songs by big artists such as the Manhattans, Lee Williams and the Cymbals and the Pretenders are regularly unearthed or revived for a new lease of life on the ongoing scene. It's 14 years since our three-volume label story was last issued and this gives a chance for those who like 'Dancers Only' and newer 60s soul recruits to enjoy a fantastic stable of soul talent. Track listing: 1. SO IN LOVE - BARBARA BROWN accompanied by GEORGE SMITH, 2. LEAVE ME IF YOU WANT TO - CURBY GOGGINS, 3. PLEASE COME BACK - HARRY CALDWELL, 4. DON'T LET YOURSELF GO - JIMMY JULES, 5. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: GWP - NYC - TLC VOLUME 2 (Kent presents a second volume from Gerry Purcell's New York-based GWP label. Purcell made his money through managing major US middle-of-the-road artists like Eddy Arnold and Al Hirt. His entry into the R&B field was largely unsuccessful in terms of hits but he assembled some of the cream of New York talent to create very high quality soul music. All of the GWP soul releases were of merit, but some of the tapes found in the vaults were exemplary. Unissued dance tracks by Lillie Fields, Larry Banks & Jaibi, Bobby Penn and the Devonnes are already big 100 Club records from advance acetate plays. The Hesitations' 'Go Away' has had advance play on the modern soul scene from its limited appearance on a 100 Club anniversary single two years ago. Alice Clark's Northern classic 'You Hit Me' was a GWP production and we feature her version of the Plus Four's 'Happiest Girl In The World'. Benny Gordon contributes three southern soul sides, including a killer version of Maxine Brown's 'All In My Mind', while Little Rose Little gives a powerhouse interpretation of the old standard 'Tennessee Waltz'. If you enjoyed the 'Larry Banks' Soul Family Album' this is a must. Track listing: 1. HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD - Plus 4, 2. YOU HIT ME (WHERE IT HURT ME) - Alice Clark, 3. ALL IN MY MIND - Benny Gordon, 4. DON'T LET YOUR MIND GO WILD - Benny Gordon, 5. NEVER GIVE UP ON LOVE - Benny Gordon, 6. WITHOUT YOUR LOVE - Bobby Penn, 7. HOW LONG CAN THIS LAST - Debbie Taylor, 8. NEVER GONNA LET HIM KNOW - Debbie Taylor, 9. STOP - Debbie Taylor, 10. MOMMA, LOOK SHARP (FROM THE BROADWAY MUSICAL COMEDY 1776) - Debbie Taylor and The Hesitations, 11. DOIN' THE GITTIN' UP - The Devonnes, 12. I DON'T CARE WHAT HE'S DONE - The Devonnes, 13. SO MUCH IN LOVE - The Exceptions, 14. GO AWAY - The Hesitations, 15. GOOD TO ME (AS I AM TO YOU) - The Hesitations, 16. YES I'M READY - The Hesitations, 17. (IT WAS LIKE A) NIGHTMARE - Jaibi aka Joan Bates, 18. I REALLY LOVE YOU - Larry Banks, 19. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: THE 100 CLUB ANNIVERSARY SINGLES 6TS - 1979 - 2009 (The 6Ts 100 Club all-nighters are about to celebrate their 30th anniversary, an unsurpassed event in discotheque and youth cult history, as these nights have been going about 15 years longer than anything similar. Yearly from 1986, strictly limited pressings of approximately 400 vinyl 45s have been given out at the September anniversary dances. Mostly unissued titles taken from master tapes, they have been an eagerly awaited event on the Northern Soul scene ever since. This compilation brings all the A-sides together on CD for the first time and includes the very first issued in 1984. The singles become instant collectors items nowadays, with the first copy on eBay hitting the 50 pound plus mark immediately. Some are so in-demand that a three-figure price tag is not unknown. Each track has an interesting history that Father to the Vinyl, Ady Croasdell, will tell in the sleevenotes along with all the amusing (and embarrassing) anecdotes. It is the CD debut of Jackie Day's unreleased Modern-recorded in-demand dancer 'Get To Steppin'' which is this year's anniversary 45: but keep it to yourself - just say the last track will be the final piece in the jigsaw. Track listing: 1. HEY STONEY FACE - Mary Love, 2. THE MAGIC TOUCH - Melba Moore, 3. NOT MY GIRL - The Platters, 4. LOVE IS GONNA GET YOU - Peggy Woods, 5. THIS MAN WANTS YOU - Wally Cox, 6. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: SLOW 'N' MOODY BLACK & BLUESY & MORE (This compilation is based on Kent's iconic third LP and was originally released in slightly different form as one of the very first Kent CDs. The Little Richard tracks on the LP are unavailable to us due to licensing problems but we have added half a dozen great new down-tempo soul/blues numbers. Four are from Kent/Modern 45s that have not been reissued before and one previously unissued number to add to those that were only ever on the original CD. Many of these titles are looked on as classic soul ballads since their original selection but have been out of print in any form for over five years. The eclectic mix puts B.B. King in the frame with the gospel group Angels Of Joy, New Orleans soul brother Joe Haywood, Philly songstress Yvonne Baker and the enigmatic Willie Gauff. Compilation and notes by Ady Croasdell. Track listing: 1. NOTHING CAN CHANGE THIS LOVE - ZZ Hill, 2. YOU MESSED UP MY MIND - Clay Hammond, 3. I CAN'T STAND IT - Jimmy Holiday, 4. LET'S GET TOGETHER - Arthur & Mary, 5. U.K KENT/ACE/STAX LABELS: GOLDWAX NORTHERN SOUL (24 dancers from the legendary Goldwax label from Memphis. - Northern Soul fans may have missed out on Kent's two Goldwax Story CDs and our single artist releases due to the preponderance of ballads on them. This is a CD especially for them - all the Goldwax dancers on one disc. - Ady Croasdell's compilation includes half a dozen previously unreleased recordings that Goldwax completists will have to have. They are very classy ones too - both Phillip & The Faithfuls tracks are wonderful. In addition there are two Spencer Wiggins tracks recorded at Fame by Goldwax and never legally released before, including the sensational 'Let's Talk It Over' which is an accepted Northern Soul anthem from acetate plays. - Other Northern favourites include Dorothy Williams' 'The Well's Gone Dry', Percy Milem's 'Call On Me' and James Carr's 'A Losing Game' and 'That's What I Want To Know'. Other big soul names include George Jackson, Dan Greer, the Ovations and Spencer Wiggins. - The master tape version of the Ovations' 'They Say' is so much better than the popular vinyl cut that it almost sounds like a new record.
