DAVE MILLEN RIP
Dave Millen the Puppets guitarist
passed away on Tuesday Jan 19 2010.
He
had advanced lung cancer and a brain tumour plus other complications
and according to his daughter Lee, who was with him at the
time, he
died peacefully, comfortably, quietly and painlessly in hospital in
Welwyn Garden City.
GEOFF
GODDARD'S SKY MEN VIDEO Mike
Belgrave, stand up comedian and another comedian called Mike Manera
have started a comedy night called Music Club. As massive
fans of Joe Meek they decided on their first night to create live on
stage the Geoff Goddard song Sky Men.
Sadly 'Neil Christian' (of The Crusaders fame) passed
away in early January.
He had
been suffering from cancer for the last few years. He fought
hard with it but
it beat him in the end. He lived in Perivale (North
London).
'Chris'
as he was known to his friends recorded for Joe
Meek in the
early sixties with tracks like The Big Beat Drum and Road
To Love.
His
rarest recording was with his mate Jimmy Page in 1960. This
was a 4 track
EP with Restless, Red Sails In The Sunset, Your Cheating
Heart and Danny. The
rare record price guide puts this at £2,500+. He
recorded for Columbia, Strike,
Youngblood and Pye Records.
